Dear Santa,
I have been such a good boy ever since I came out of mommy's tummy! I get fussy sometimes, but that's only because I want my mommy or daddy to hold me or feed me. I sleep in my crib now all by myself! I also sleep through the night! (With the occasional midnight snack, of course.) I am cute as a button and give my mommy the brightest little smiles! They make her day! I'm not sure who you are, but Mommy says you are a jolly big man with a big white beard all dressed in red, who comes to give good little boys and girls toys!
Mommy says that you are going to bring me a few things this year! Oh boy! I can't wait. I like to play with my Froggie and my Apple toy so far, but I am sure that I will want to play with more things the bigger I get! Mommy and I will be making some cookies to put out for you on Christmas Eve. And maybe some for your reindeer, too!
Here is a link to some things that I might like!
Love,
Holden

I Should Really Be Sleeping.

I love this picture of Holden and I!
Sometimes, I really miss sleeping with him, but I am really glad we finally got him to sleep in his crib. I saw a segment on the news the other day detailing the dangers of co-sleeping. I'm a really light sleeper, and I hardly move when I sleep, but I can't even imagine how horrible it would be to wake up and find your baby is not breathing. They were doing a study in Texas of co-sleeping parents and some crazy number of babies died a year due to co-sleeping. Alcohol was mentioned as probably being involved. That's awful.
He is getting so big. The bigger he gets, the cuter he gets! He is making more and different sounds. He can focus on small objects, and he is beginning to be able to grasp and grab objects. It really is amazing to watch him develop, and it's quite hard to imagine myself as being so small and helpless at one time. The human capacity to grow and learn is just mind-blowing.
We took our photos to be used on our Christmas cards today. They came out less than perfect but that's the point, I think for this type of photo. Still very cute, you'll understand what is meant when you get one in the mail! If you'd like a Christmas card, please e-mail me your address @ ashleigh@ashleighthomson.com .
We bought him a Bumbo chair the other day. I've had girls tell me it was about %70 percent worth the $35 dollars it costs, but I'm hoping he'll get his use out of it. He still sits a little slumpy, but he IS only four months after all. I sat him in it to feed him some applesauce and rice cereal this evening. As usual, half of it ended up on his face. So cute.
I'm trying to figure out some things that Santa can bring him for Christmas. Not too many ideas yet. Suggestions welcome!

First Foods
As per usual, Holden has been traveling all over the state of Kansas to hang out with his grandparents.
This week we've even visited both grandparents! Grandma Kim and I introduced Holden to his first solid foods... bananas! Check out what he thought of them:
The pedi said that in addition to rice cereal, we can start some fruits like bananas, applesauce and peaches. So far, so good! Now lets just hope he eats his veggies just as well! Something tells me that this kiddo won't refuse anything... he loves to eat!
We got his photos back from Penny's...So cute. I need to find frames for them. Will scan and post them soon. Next up is Christmas photos! We need to find him a nice Christmas outfit for pictures. I have seen several cute outfits, but nothing quite what I want.
I would like to find an outfit like this....

... it's perfect. It's at Target but they don't have it in a 6 month size. Anyone have suggestions about where I need to look?
We also got to visit Grandma and Grandad Thomson! Lex and I went up to Lawrence to see Old Crow Medicine Show. I'm bummed we didn't get to stay longer...So many people to visit while we are there! Hopefully we can come back soon. Holden loves to see his family! :)
